First you start with a kit which is the plastic head, arms and legs sometime the torso. I also used a doe suade body. The plastic parts are painted with layers of heat set paints. The paints are heat set between each layer. Then the eyes are glued in. The hair is rooted with a felting needle. Then you weight your body parts. This makes the baby feel like the weight of a real baby. Then you attach the parts to the soft body that has been weighted also.
This little baby is only 10". She was fun to make, I can't wait to get started on another. I hope with practice I will improve with each one I make.

Nice Blog.
it looks really creepy in pieces, but you do an AMAZING job and it looks so precious when you are done!
You did a great job for your first Reborn. Be careful....reborning dolls can be addictive! LOL
Wow! That's amazing- nice work!
Thank you so much for your kind comments:) I am very happy with how she came out. It was nerve racking to begin with, but very fun as I went along.

She's very cute! I've never made dolls, so I'm just someone who loves them. I can see all the work you put into them though.
I am in awe of your talent. They look so real.
